It took many unproductive days and creative slumps for me to actually realize the importance of a morning routine. Those darker days are actually what made me so passionate about my morning routine in the present. I truly owe the majority of my successes and growth to it, and overall, it’s made me a happier, more optimistic and resilient human-being! Whenever I don’t feel in the mood to hustle or like my to-do list is never-ending, my morning ritual always pull me out of this paralyzed state 💪.
Everyone’s different of course when it comes to what routines work and what don’t. I truly believe I discovered one exception though. After a year practicing the Miracle Morning routine created by Hal Elrod, I say with confidence it’s the closest thing to a one-size-fits-all morning routine for everyone and anyone. It’s backed by a community of hundreds of thousands too, in case you need extra convincing!! 😊
The Miracle Morning is also the only morning routine I’ve discovered that does it ALL. There’s a lot of research out there based on effective morning routines. The Miracle Morning has taken all that research into account to craft the most effective and approachable 1 hour daily practice.
Side note: This post is not sponsored. I just love the Miracle Morning that much. It drastically changed my life, and I know it has the power to change yours too 😍.

The Miracle Morning 6-Step Morning Routine
The Miracle Morning is comprised of 6 steps called S.A.V.E.R.S.! Like I said before, these 6 practices are all scientifically-proven to improve things like mental clarity and focus, productivity, optimism, and create an overall happier mindset that’s hardwired for success.
Here’s what S.A.V.E.R.S. stands for:
To kick off your day with the Miracle Morning, it’s recommended to wake up 1 hour earlier than usual. It’s up to you how you split up the hour long routine, and you can use whatever tools and activities you please to complete each step.
If you want a more in-depth description of the 6 steps, plus suggestions for each, keep scrolling!
You can complete the S.A.V.E.R.S. in any order you like, but I personally like to start mine off with silence, AKA meditation. It kicks off your routine with a clear head and open mind. It’s also proven to improve focus, as well as decrease stress and anxiety. So instead of checking your phone first thing in the morning, start the day with some meditation!
If you’re new to meditation or often have a hard time controlling your thoughts, stick to guided meditations! Apps like Headspace and Insight or even YouTube are great for this. If you have Spotify or Audible subscriptions, these also have a great library of guided mediations.
Affirmations are extremely powerful in bringing our hopes, desires, and goals into existence. Psychology Today describes them as a way to “reprogram the subconscious mind, to encourage us to believe certain things about ourselves or about the world and our place in it.
I honestly used to think this practice was frou frou 🤣. I can truly say though after a year of practicing daily affirmations, it’s completely transformed the way I see myself and the way I approach life.
The most powerful way to practice affirmations is to to say them out loud to yourself in the mirror. If that thought scares you though (I still haven’t got here 😂), then simply practice writing them down on paper. I personally write mine in my Five Minute Journal, which has a special place dedicated to affirmations of the day.
Visualization, like affirmations, is another scientifically-backed, reality-shaping practice in this morning routine
The Miracle Morning recommends to visualize your future life as if you’ve already achieved your greatest goals and desires. It encourages you to go into detail about the feelings you’ll have, the choices you’ll make, and exactly what that image looks like to you. The whole idea behind this practice is to bring these thoughts into existence by constantly revisiting them in our head daily. When we’re actively revisiting this image of the life we want to create, we’re much more likely to make daily decisions that bring us closer to this end goal.
You can practice visualization through creating a vision board, writing a letter to your future self, or simply envisioning your future self in your head, in great detail.
When life gets hectic, it’s easy to place exercise at the bottom of our to-do list. Our to-do list would never get checked off though without our health. It also helps with stress and self-esteem: two incredibly important factors that shape our productivity and realities. Plus, the sense of accomplishment that comes with exercising first thing in the morning will influence your momentum the rest of the day!
If you prefer exercising in the afternoon or night, simply go for a morning walk, do some light stretching or yoga poses, or challenge yourself to 50 crunches or squats.
I’m sure you’re already aware of the benefits of reading. It obviously makes us more intelligent human-beings, but it can also completely change our quality of life. Choose a book that offers something of value to you. Maybe it’s a self-help book or a book that teaches you a new skill. Or maybe it just offers a sense of escape and entertainment.
Scribing or journaling is the last piece of the puzzle to this morning routine. You can interpret this practice however best fits your needs. You can write a stream of consciousness rant as a way to “brain dump” or three things you’re grateful for that day. Another thing I like to do is write down the life lessons I’ve learned lately.
I like to combine this step of the routine with the Affirmations step, again, using my Five Minute Journal. It’s designed to help you practice both daily gratitude and affirmations, making it the perfect vessel for these steps of the routine!
Need some ideas of how to break up your S.A.V.E.R.S. routine? Here’s what my mornings look like:
I am SO not a morning person and used struggle every morning to get out of bed.

Why Morning Routines Are So Important For EVERYONE!
Some people’s skin crawl just at the sight of the word “morning routine” 😂. I totally get it. Nowadays,, everyone and their mother seems to be talking about their morning routine.
It honestly was never something that concerned me until I heard this quote in a podcast:
“Your level of success will seldom succeed your level of personal development, because your success is something you attract by the person you become.”
The Miracle Morning is so much more than starting off your day on a positive note. It’s designed to bring the self-growth you need in order to reach your fullest potential (both personally and professionally!).
If this routine sounds like something you’d want to incorporate into your day, I highly recommend reading the Miracle Morning for even more motivation and understanding of this ritual.
If you do decide to adopt this routine, challenge yourself to 30 days of consecutive practice. This was the only way I turned this routine into habit. It may feel difficult to adopt the first few days or week, and some days you may feel like you don’t have the motivation. But I promise you, by day 30 you’ll wake up excited to start your day with it!!
I hope this routine is as life-changing for you as it’s been for me. Let me know in the comments if you decide to give it a go! And if you have another morning routine that works for you, please do share!
