Follow this trick and book TWO economy seats, for the price of one!
Traveling in even numbers? If your answer is yes, then use this travel hack when choosing your seat on your next flight: Select one aisle and one window in the same row, and just like that, your chances of sitting next to an open seat have doubled. Empty middle seats are the last to fill up on flights, so if you’re traveling on a non-full flight, there’s a great chance you and your partner will have some room to spread out!
Choose your travel CC based on the perks!
Travel credit cards aren’t just great for miles! They can also give you access to airport luxury lounges that are typically only available to First-Class flyers and VIPs. Inside most lounges, you can enjoy high-speed WiFi, entertainment rooms with TVs, open bars with unlimited beverages (alcoholic an nonalcoholic!), free buffets, and sometimes even showers and spas! If you don’t have a travel credit card yet, this is definitely is something to consider when researching which one’s best for you!
Research airline ratings before booking a flight
Flight ratings are based on customer reviews and factors like leg-room, comfortability, quality of service, amenities, tendency to depart/arrive on time, etc. and they’re worth looking into. If you book at the right time, you can purchase top-rated flights and airlines for the same price as the budget ones, and sometimes for even cheaper! If there are multiple flights listed at the same price, definitely do your research and go with the best reviews (Expedia does this for you, as seen above, but other booking sites may not).
Buy access to airport lounges on long layovers
Airport lounges are the best way to turn an exhausting layover into a relaxing and even luxurious experience. It’s a common misconception that the lounges are only available to first-class ticket holders and frequent flyers. In fact, most of them allow you to purchase admission! The fees are usually anywhere from 35-75 USD, which may seem steep, but they turn out to be great investments. That price includes: comfortable lounge chairs, reliable WiFi, TV entertainment, free unlimited food/drinks/alcohol, clean public restrooms, and more! If these are things you usually spend your money on when roaming the airport, then a lounge pass is worth purchasing!
Sign up for TSA Pre-Check or Global Entry
Both of these programs are incredible when it comes to eliminating the most unpleasant airport experiences. Perfect for U.S. citizens, TSA Pre-Check allows you to skip long security lines when traveling within the country, and you won’t be required to take off your shoes or remove laptops and liquids while going through security. Global Entry allows you skip the long customs lines and instead use speedy kiosks to read your fingerprints, passports, and customs declarations. TSA Pre-Check has an $85 application fee and is best for frequent flyers in the U.S., while Global Entry’s fee is $100 and best for international travelers.
