1. Vintage Shopping in Le Marais

In my opinion, Paris has the BEST vintage shopping in the world! It’s also some of the most affordable type of shopping you’ll find in Paris.

A great starting point is a shop called Kilos, where prices are determined by the weight of your items! Just outside Kilos, you’ll see several other vintage shops on the same street so you can hop around.

2. Day Trip to Monet’s Garden

When I was 16, I visited Claude Monet’s House and Garden in Giverny on a day trip from Paris. To this day it’s still one of my favorite France memories!

His beautiful garden looks just as it does in his iconic pantings, and they’ve even preserved his house to look just as it did a hundred years ago!

If you have the time to venture outside the city for a half day, definitely add Monet’s Garden to your Paris to-do list.

3. Stroll Cour Damoye

Cour Damoye is one of the oldest-preserved streets in Paris, dating back to the XVIIIth century! It’s very charming with it’s cobblestone streets and cute art shops, and is a great place for photos. Surprisingly, tourists haven’t really discovered this place yet 😍

You can visit nearby Rue Cremieux next, Paris’s most famous colorful street! It’s just a 10 minute walk away.

4. Walk Along the Promenade Plantée

The Promenade Plantée is an abandoned train track that has been transformed into a lush, elevated parkway. If you’re looking to walk off all that French food one day, this is a beautiful, scenic way to do it!

5. Get Drinks in a Laundromat

The laundromat, turned speakeasy Lavomatic is becoming more popular among tourists, but it’s still one of the most unique places to get drinks in the city!

If you want to go bar-hopping, here’s some other unique and hidden bars to add to your list!

6. Shop in Galerie Vivienne

Galerie Vivienne is exactly how you’d imagine 1920’s Paris to look. It’s an old shopping center with charming shops and cafes, so you can visit for some shopping and coffee, or just to stroll on through.

7. Day Trip to the Château de Monte-Cristo

This palace belonging to the famous French writer Alexandre Dumas is located just outside of Paris. What’s great is that it’s still relatively unknown to tourists! This comes as a surprise because it looks straight out of a Parisian fairytale 😍

If you have a half day open and want to escape the Paris crowds, add this beautiful château to your itinerary!

8. The Seafood Tower at Le Dome

Seafood may not be the first kind of food that comes to mind when thinking of Paris. I ensure you though, that this will be one of the best seafood meals of your life!

The grandiosity of Le Dome and its seafood tower is everything you’d imagine a meal in Paris to look like. I learned of this incredible dining experience on an Anthony Bourdain episode, and it was just as incredible as he said it was.

It definitely does not come cheap (I believe it’s around 160 euros! 🙈). If you’re a foodie like me though, it’s worth every penny IMO!

9. Tour An Old Artist’s Apartment Turned Museum

Paris has a plethora of museums to choose from, but Musée National Gustave Moreau is definitely one of the most unique! Even if you’re not as interested in its art display, the architecture and staircase alone are enough of a reason to visit this apartment museum!

I personally love experiencing historic Paris and daydreaming about what it must have looked like decades ago, and this museum offers just that!

10. Picnic Along Canal St. Martin

Experience Paris like a local and have a picnic along Canal St. Martin. For your meal, grab a truffle ham baguette at Caractere de Cochon , macaroons at Pierre Herme, and some cheap French wine from a local market. I promise you’ll thank me later!! 🙏
