I’ve been anticipating this move for quite some time now…since June 2015 to be exact, which is when I booked my one-way ticket to Thailand. I’ve been here 4 whole days now and I still have to keep pinching myself, it’s all so surreal!!
After 30+ hours of flying & 2 long layovers in Tokyo and Singapore, I finally arrived on the little island of Koh Samui, Thailand, which is where I’ll be calling my home for the next month.
I spent my first few days napping off the jet lag, stocking my apartment with groceries (exploring the Asian markets here has been one of my favorite experiences so far 😍), and breaking in our gym and pool. Since settling in, I’ve visited several different pools + beaches already and just rented a car so I can discover every inch of this island!!
Within this next month, I’ll also be island hopping, with Koh Samui being my home base. Here are some highlights coming up on my schedule this month:
- Full Moon Party + Spending the rest of the weekend on little Koh Phangan island
- 2 nights on Koh Tao, home to some of the best diving in the world!
- Day trip to Angthong National Park, which is made up of 42 small islands and crazy rock formations
I’M SO READY TO EXPLORE!!!
I’ve been very MIA when it comes to blogging recently because of this huge transition, but I’m back now and will be posting a ton as I travel these next 9 months. Stay tuned for more travel stories/guides, new recipes (I’m taking a Thai cooking class soon!), cost breakdowns for anyone interested in budget travel, and much more travel advice, so stay tuned!!
